Important Note

My GCT Hub is not an official application of the Government College of Technology (GCT), Coimbatore. This app is developed independently by a GCT student purely for learning and educational purposes. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or managed by the college administration. This version was created after the earlier “My GCT” app was suspended to comply with Google Play policies.

Welcome to My GCT Hub. This app helps GCT students access academic content, updates, and department-related posts. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the app.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following information from users when they register or use the app:

• Basic Details: Name, email, department, gender, and batch
• Device Information: Device ID used for push notifications
• Uploaded Data: PDFs, notes, or posts shared by users
• Usage Data: Views, likes, comments, downloads, and session activity

We do not collect sensitive personal data such as passwords, financial information, or contact lists.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Provide academic content related to your department and semester
• Send academic notifications or important updates
• Enable users to post and share educational materials
• Improve app performance and user experience

We do not sell, rent, or trade user data to third parties.

4. Data Storage and Security

• All user data is stored securely on our backend servers.
• Passwords (if used for login) are encrypted before being stored.

We retain your data as long as your account remains active or as required to provide our services. You can request deletion of your account and data at any time (see Section 10).

8. Children’s Privacy

My GCT Hub is designed for college students. We do not knowingly collect or store data from anyone under 13 years of age. If such data is accidentally collected, it will be promptly deleted upon notice.

9. Data Safety Compliance

• We clearly disclose what data is collected and how it’s used.
• We do not sell or share user data for marketing or advertising.
• Users can delete their account and data anytime.
• All data is encrypted in transit and stored securely.

10. How to Delete Your My GCT Hub Account

1. Log in to the My GCT Hub app.
2. Tap on Profile → Account Activity → Delete Account.
3. Confirm deletion when prompted.

After deletion, your account and all associated data will be permanently erased from our servers and cannot be recovered. If you face any issues, contact us at ragavan.devp@gmail.com.

11. Deleting User-Generated Content

Users can delete any post or file they uploaded directly from within the app. Each post includes a Delete option. Once deleted, the post and all related data are permanently removed from our servers.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. If significant changes occur, users will be notified within the app or on our website. Continued use of the app after updates means you accept the new policy.
